Future University in Egypt's Faculty of Economics and Political Science Hosts Inaugural Symposium on "Regional Repercussions and Future Prospects"
The Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Future University in Egypt organized the inaugural symposium for the 2024/2025 academic year, titled "Regional Repercussions and Future Prospects," on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the university theater.

The symposium was opened by Dr. Salwa Thabet, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, who expressed her gratitude to the distinguished guests, students, and the university administration, led by Dr. Ebada Sarhan, for their continued support of community activities. She emphasized the importance of educating students about the developments on the regional and international scenes.
Dr. Hassan Wageeh, Head of the Political Science Department, highlighted the significance of interdisciplinary studies in social sciences, as they enhance the ability to predict and understand political phenomena.

Dr. Ahmed Youssef Ahmed, Professor of Political Science at Cairo University, addressed the lessons learned from the "Al-Aqsa Flood," which began on October 7, 2023. He noted that liberation and resistance movements ultimately prevail, especially when the cost of colonization exceeds its benefits.

Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Badr El-Din Zayed, former Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Neighboring Countries and Egypt’s former Ambassador to Lebanon, discussed the complex situation in Lebanon, emphasizing Egypt’s role in uniting Palestinian factions and supporting the Palestinian cause.

Major General Dr. Khaled Okasha, Director of the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies, described the "Al-Aqsa Flood" as an "asymmetric war" between a well-equipped regular army and a less-equipped resistance movement, stressing the need to focus on the field of futurology to better predict political events.

The symposium was moderated by media expert Dr. Mohamed Abdo Badawy, and its aim was to familiarize students with key historical events in the region, explore possible future scenarios with the opening of a new front in Lebanon, and discuss the security and strategic implications of the crisis at both local and regional levels.
