Future University in Egypt Organizes an Educational Field Visit for Political Mass Media Students to Al-Ahram Institution

Future University in Egypt (FUE) organized an extensive educational field trip on December 2, 2025, for students of the Political Mass Media Department at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, as part of the university’s commitment to enriching students’ practical understanding of the media landscape in Egypt.

The visit took place at the historic Al-Ahram Building, one of the oldest and most respected media institutions in the Arab world and Africa. Celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, Al-Ahram continues to represent a cornerstone of professional journalism, contributing significantly to shaping public opinion and advancing media practices across generations.

During the tour, students gained valuable insights into the stages of news production, editorial policies, digital transformation efforts, and the evolving role of media institutions in the age of artificial intelligence and global communication. They also learned about Al-Ahram’s historical contribution to developing the Egyptian press and its continuous efforts to maintain high journalistic standards.

Prof. Dr. Hany El Shamy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, accompanied the group of students, emphasizing that the visit reflects the faculty’s strategy to bridge academic knowledge with the realities of the professional media environment. He highlighted the importance of exposing students to leading institutions like Al-Ahram to enrich their skills and prepare them for competitive career paths.

The initiative also aligns with FUE’s broader vision to strengthen cooperation with national institutions that support experiential learning. Discussions during the visit opened promising opportunities for collaboration, including future training programs, specialized workshops, and expanded internship placements.

Students enrolled in the News Crafting course, supervised by Dr. Sahar Talaat, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to explore the newsroom environment firsthand. They affirmed their readiness to continue building on this experience and work toward expanding practical training channels for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

This visit stands as a step forward in reinforcing FUE’s commitment to integrating theoretical education with applied media training, ensuring that students of the Political Mass Media Department gain the professional exposure needed to excel in the evolving fields of journalism, communication, and political media studies.
