This course examines the conceptualization and development of research projects in the field of political science, economics, public administration and political media. It offers deep and scientific critical review of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Students prepare their research papers related to their fields and establish a plan of survey under the supervision of their professors who are either their advisors or part of their panel in the final presentation Course Goals: • Draw the relationship between using quantitative and qualitative methods in the same and different research topics. • Address the most appropriate and feasible data gathering techniques to evoke the message intended from the research. • Become at ease with respect to using and being exposed to different forms of information. • Construct an academic research up to the national, regional and international niveau.

Course outcomes:

a. Knowledge and Understanding:

1-	Define different ways of conducting quantitative and qualitative research.
2-	Recognize the need to combine methods for the purpose of a more comprehensive research.
3-	Identify the needs of the surrounding community as well as the regional and international current affairs, based on which to choose the gap to fill using the research.

b. Intellectual Skills:

1-	Combine theoretical and practical skills in the analysis of the honor thesis.
2-	Explore new analytical methods to maximize the outcome of the honor thesis and the learned courses throughout the previous academic years.
3-	Examine the ability to critically analyze and construct new ideas, as well as expressing one’s stand point methodologically and academically.

c. Professional and Practical Skills:

1-	Relate to previously conducted research in the desired field of interest and define the intended gap to fill.
2-	Apply academic knowledge in a respective field of research or a trans-disciplinary perspective and sharpen the chosen idea or topic using that knowledge.
3-	Illustrate the ability to use various data gathering techniques and analytical tools to pool knowledge and get the optimal academically profound research possible under the given circumstances.

d. General and Transferable Skills:

1-	Think of mechanisms to elaborate on ideas critically and constructively.
2-	Evaluate the different stages of conducting the honor thesis and their needs.
3-	Compare chosen topic to other similar researches conducted nationally, regionally and internationally to sharpen the edge of the honor thesis.
