The Department of Economics is one of the four faculty departments. The study of the field of economics has become of a paramount importance in all countries of the world, especially in developing countries. We believe that the economy is the backbone of any society and its stability and efficiency is the driving force for any development process, which is why we, in this department aim to give students a deep understanding of the meaning and core of economics as a science at both a theoretical, and empirical level. Throughout their years as students of economics, they are provided with profound knowledge of different branches of economics and diverse economic tools, stressing the link between economics and other disciplines such as political science, public administration, mass media, and management, to help students deliver shrewd holistic economic analysis.
The Department aims at developing the research skills of students and their analytical abilities to find innovative and novel solutions to pressing economic problems. Our target is to supply Egypt and the Gulf region’s labor market with highly qualified economists and researchers, who have not only a strong background of economic theories but the quantitative tools and analytical abilities to face and solve all economic issues and contribute to the economic development of Egypt, and the Gulf region.
